Repair or replace?
A cartridge swap can bring a good faucet back to life for years. A twenty-year-old builder-grade unit with a corroded body is a different conversation. The same applies to pipe: one failed joint in otherwise sound copper is a repair, while repeated pinhole leaks along the same run usually mean the pipe itself is at the end of its life.
We tell you which situation you are in and what each option involves, rather than defaulting to the larger job.
Diagnosis comes first
Water travels. A stain on a basement ceiling can come from a tub overflow gasket one floor up, a drain line joint, or a supply line running through the joist bay. Guessing means opening the wrong drywall.
We trace the problem to the actual source using visual inspection, pressure checks, moisture readings and drain cameras where they help, then repair once.
Preventative maintenance
- Testing and exercising main and fixture shut-off valves so they work when you need them
- Checking supply hoses on washing machines, dishwashers and toilets for bulges and corrosion
- Inspecting exposed pipe runs for early corrosion and drip marks
- Clearing aerators and showerheads affected by mineral scale
- Confirming sump pump and backwater valve operation before spring
