Plumbing Leak Detection & Pipe Repair in Brampton

The leaks that cause the most damage are the ones nobody sees. Water escaping inside a wall, above a ceiling or under a slab can run for months, soaking framing and insulation before a stain finally appears.

Plumber Brampton locates hidden leaks and repairs the pipe, rather than patching drywall over an unresolved problem.

Signs of a hidden plumbing leak

  • A water bill that climbed with no change in household use
  • Damp, discoloured or bubbling drywall and paint
  • Ceiling stains that grow or reappear after being painted
  • A musty smell in a closet, basement or under a vanity
  • Warm or persistently damp spots on a floor
  • The sound of running water when every fixture is off
  • Water pressure that has dropped without explanation
  • Mould appearing repeatedly in the same corner

How we find leaks

  • Isolating sections of the system and monitoring the meter to confirm a leak exists
  • Pressure testing supply lines to narrow the run at fault
  • Moisture meters and visual tracing to map how far water has travelled
  • Acoustic listening for pressurised leaks behind finished surfaces
  • Drain camera inspection where the leak is on a waste line rather than a supply line

Pipe repair and water line work

Once the source is confirmed we repair it properly: replacing failed sections of copper, PEX or ABS, remaking joints, replacing corroded fittings and valves, and repairing pinhole leaks in supply lines.

We also handle main water line repair and underground pipe repair where the service line between the street and the house is leaking — often visible as a wet patch in the yard, unexplained meter movement, or a sudden drop in pressure throughout the home.

Why early detection matters

Water damage costs escalate with time, not volume. A small ongoing leak that reaches framing and insulation can turn a straightforward pipe repair into drywall, flooring and mould remediation work. Insurance treatment also differs between a sudden failure and long-term seepage.

If something feels off — a smell, a stain, a bill — it is worth having it checked while the repair is still small.

Leak Detection FAQs

Do you have to open walls to find a leak?

Not usually as a first step. We narrow the location using testing and moisture readings so any opening is small and in the right place.

Can a leak exist with no visible water?

Yes. Water follows framing and can surface metres from the actual break, or be absorbed by insulation for a long time before it shows.

Is the water line from the street my responsibility?

In most cases the property owner is responsible for the private portion of the service line. We can inspect it and explain what applies to your property.
